So you have completed your first children’s story. Congratulations many writers don’t get to this stage. The next hurdle is finding the right publisher or literary agent that best fits the type of children book that you just wrote. If this is your first attempt at this process, it is best to go out and purchase the most current Children’s Writer’s "& Illustrator’s Market by Writer’s Digest Books or Children’s Writer Guide to 2007 Copyright Writer’s Institute Publications.

Once you find the best publishing house or literary agent that matches your story. By that I mean if you are writing an historical fiction story and just blanket mail your story out you are wasting your time and theirs. Find the places that are looking for the genre your book fits into. Be professional and investigate the best fit for your book. I would suggest you take the time and do your research. Go on-line and check out their home page and submission requirements. See what books they have recently published. Go to the bookstore and take a look at their books. Ask yourself these questions:
